The World According to Pam Too--TV and Politics.....
- Simon is a lot nicer this year on American Idol (at least so far)
- To add to my comments from yesterday about the Presidential elections, I am sick of hearing people saying in interviews "I am voting for ____ because I want to see the first woman/African American president" elected in my lifetime..." because that implies that color or gender is the first factor in their decision making process. I will NEVER tell ANYONE how to vote, because I hate it when people try to influence my vote, HOWEVER I feel strongly that people should vote based on issues, credentials and experience, not based on race, gender and popularity, and frankly, not even along party lines. This election scares me the most, because it could be a history making election....which I am all for...as long as the history making person has the background and experience needed to run our country.
- Politics Too - What makes these candidates think that making recorded calls to my phone in the evenings are going to get me to vote for them? A: I am not going to listen to the whole drawn out message B: It really makes me mad and C: ARGH!!!!!!
- Celebrity Apprentice has given me a new appreciation (or should I say, an appreciation) for Gene Simmons.... He is quite the businessman, and he is very self assured. And he doesn't let anyone else take the fall/responsibility for something that he believes in....HEY...Maybe HE should run for President! He could be the first actual Rock start to be elected President!
- Random Office Quote: "I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends. I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments, and that is when it's nice to let them know that you could beat them up" - Michael Scott
- Survivor is back...I am SO excited
- This writer's strike is making me crazy. I found myself watching a show called Parking Wars, which is a reality show about people who write parking citations in the city of Philadelphia. Now THAT is desperation people!
Well, that is it....
peace....

I agree...'tis a futile effort on the part of Hollywood to keep tv going...but you have to admit...if it's in Philadelphia, then it's automatically a more interesting show. They have a great accent. Sometimes, I find myself talking with a Phila accent...even though I was only there for a day. It was the first day of the rest of my life...and then some. Culminated in the glorious trampse up the Rocky stairs (well, actually that was the first thing we did in Phila when we got there)...um...and the incredible coffee from the oldest single-family owned Italian restaurant in the US...and Chinatown, where I bought red bean bread...in Chinese...yes...what a day. Nothing will ever live up to that amazingness...really, I should just start praying that God take me now. heh
I think I'm starting a write in campaign for "Joe Gibbs" for president.
=D
did you like how i practically forced the idea of getting a second opinion on the guitar?
i could've actually tried to sell you guys a new guitar, but i'm sure ron wouldn't want a clearance guitar. there's two particular guitars that ron would love if he checked them out, but i wouldn't sell them to him, mainly because i want to buy them. =P
man, today was a really bad day, we had a meeting at 8am, and i had to work till close. 10 hours. ugh. you guys should visit again tomorrow and play around with stuff!
yeah, i'm ashamed to admit, that i have tuned into "gene simmons family jewels" more than once. (it's like the ozzy osborne show that had camera crews in their home). i DO NOT condone most of the stuff that gene simmons does (i.e. brags about the women, oggles after women, etc.) but, at home, he seems to be a lot different than he's promoted himself to be in the public eye. you come to find that his "persona" is all just.......well, business. it's just an act, basically.
p.s. did i hear rumor that the writer's strike is almost over??
I figured that was the case, I only suggested those things because my boss was right there, but didn't you like how i did that though? I mean, you have to admit, that WAS pretty slick. =P Besides, I was serious about the repair thing, before you guys take the guitar back or whatever, you should get a second opinion, just so you know exactly what's up with it, just to make whoever feel stupid. I'd say, it's most likely the bridge, there's a smaller chance that it might be the peg, but other than that, it's gotta be the bridge, or he's strumming them too hard. I doubt that's the case, especially after hearing the story about it. regardless, i still say getting a professional opinion on it is better than going to a "guru." that's why I never get stuff from guitar center, I barely get stuff from music and arts, I always order it from musicians' friend, or the actual company, and then get my employee discount. =D
