Disgusted
So I read today about a video that was on YouTube of a Marine throwing a puppy over a cliff. Not only did someone do this in the company of witnesses, but they allowed it to be video taped AND someone thought it was worth putting on YouTube, and then people actually watched it until YouTube decided to yank it. The bright spot is that apparently one of the Marines is being processed for removal, and another marine is also being punished for their role in the whole thing. That's something.
Ugh...there is so much ugliness in the world, why do we have to throw puppies off of cliffs? We should always be nice to puppies--After all, what did a puppy ever do to you?
peace...

Peter and I were talking the other day about the cruelty inherent in mankind and how abhorrent such behavior is to our loving God. People who will take pleasure in cruelty to animals will also see nothing wrong in being cruel to children or other helpless humans. I read a review the other day about a comedy movie currently playing in which a cat is used in a game of hacky-sack. While of course it was done with special effects, not a real cat, the idea of comedy in cruelty to a cat is the whole point. And stupid people will inevitably try it for real. Makes me sick.
I hope people understand that those Marines were not cruel because they were Marines. I'm thankful they are being disciplined severely, because that kind of men would be likely to represent our country in time of war in terrible ways with regard to cruelty to civilians or enemy prisoners.
I'm so thankful that our three sons have tender hearts toward animals and people, and they are the more manly and strong because of it.
